What an awesome time in the Lord we had with Pastor Rita and her congregation. It was a time of encouragement in the Lord and impartation of fresh vision for the future. God totally changed our sermon on the 1st night. Instead of ministering on healings and miracles, God led us to teach on how to witness using the 10 commandments. Plans were made to hit the streets on the following Saturday and hit the streets we did!
Initially, the first few people didn’t seem to be receptive to the gospel, but as we persisted, souls started getting saved. I’ll always remember the lady I talked to that broke down in tears as I witnessed to her. She looked deeply into my eyes as if to say, “Is it really true what you’re telling me?” There are many people outside the four walls of the church that have lost hope and don’t believe there really is a God that loves them. It’s our job to let the world know that He does.
All in all, 7 people gave their lives to the Lord. On the last night of the meetings, we took church to the streets. Our sermon – “What did Jesus do?” was preached in the open air. Several that passed by got saved. Others came and sat listening to the message preached. We believe that many heard it in the surrounding neighborhood and gave their lives to Christ.
We look forward to coming back this summer and doing more open air meetings with Pastor Rita. Thanks again Pastor for allowing us to come. It’s always a blessing being with you and your congregation. Remember, the best IS yet to come!
